“Thank you so much for your presentation to the El Camino chapter of IAAP.  As administrative assistants and executive assistants, our wardrobe in the work place demonstrates our commitment to our companies and professions.

Members tell me they particularly enjoyed your enthusiasm and ability to pinpoint how clothing choices can vary depending on what attitude one is trying to project.”

"Loved the seminar.
You have a thorough command of your subject matter, present it in an organized and easy to follow and understand manner.  You have a great ability to accept questions and have answers on the fly."

"It was a great afternoon.  You are a very gracious host and skilled presenter so it was substantive as well as fun.

A lot of the basic information (textured fabric with curly hair, small prints with small frames) was new and very helpful to me.  I also tend to under-accessorize so that reminder was quite good.  In fact that night while dressing for a dinner party, I added a cinnamon colored scarf to a monochromatic cream/ecru outfit and received two compliments on how great I looked (one from a man!).  I myself could see the difference between good-but-nothing-special and understated-but-fabulous without/with the scarf."

"[I liked] The opportunity to see that we come in all shapes and sizes, and that we can each benefit by finding what best fits our look and outlook. I think I had the preconceived idea that there were the "good" looking and dressing women, and then the rest of us. Realizing that each one is different and yet can still look good makes me realize I don't have to give up on looking nice. (It was a confidence booster.)

I think I liked best when individual women came to the front and their styles were discussed. It made the abstract come down to something concrete and helpful."
Susan - Palo Alto, CA

"You are a beautiful presenter - in every sense of the word! The topics were interesting and including guests as examples was non-threatening and informative. The visuals were clear and easy to follow and you kept a good pace."
Maggie - Menlo Park, CA

"I thought you did a wonderful job. The pace was good, examples right on point, and you are sincere and direct in a non-intimidating way. Fashion discussion can be very difficult on someone who feels insecure and I thought you made everyone feel safe. You made the presentation more of an intellectual discussion so it felt it less subjective."
Diana - Menlo Park, CA

"Julie's clothing seminar  helped me make the most of the body I have.  I now understand how some of this clothing stuff works in ways I'd never considered before - texture, pattern, necklines, bringing attention to your face, the 'code of three things'.  I can see now that just a little more effort can make a big difference in how I look."
Elizabeth - Palo Alto, CA

“Julie's workshop taught me how to choose the best clothing styles for my body and face shapes as well as how to buy clothes that work with my entire wardrobe, not just one particular outfit. When I go shopping now, I know how to choose the clothes that not only fit, but truly make me look great.  Julie's workshop has made quite a difference in the clothes I buy and wear.”
Emily - Stanford, CA

“Julie's presentation on ‘knowing your body’ has really helped me get a better understanding of why some styles work better than others on my body. Consequently, I'm becoming a better shopper as a result and look forward to putting my best look forward.”

“I attended one of Julie's seminars with my mother and my sister.  Despite having three very different lifestyles, all three of us found useful tips to take away and inform our shopping and dressing choices.”

"I turned to Julie when I had a very public profile as the wife of an American ambassador overseas. I needed an extensive and hard-working wardrobe that could take me from day to night, including formal diplomatic occasions. I not only needed to look my best at all times, but stay within a budget. Julie was fabulous! She guided me through the process by helping me to cull my existing wardrobe and find new ways of putting things together. We also did some major "power shopping" while I was in town for a conference, and within hours I had new basics to form an infinite number of new wardrobe combinations. Having Julie's professional guidance gave me added confidence that I was at my best."

“I generally hate shopping because I don’t have the time and I don’t keep up with what’s in style, so I’m not really confident in what I buy. I wasn’t sure about this personal shopper thing, but willing to give it a try. Well, I’m now a true believer! Shopping with Julie was not only loads of fun, but she helped me put clothes together in a way I never would have thought of. And the clothes I purchased are not only stylish, but they go together, so I can mix and match to make a lot of different outfits. It was definitely worth the money.”

“Julie is a great shopping companion.  She’s wonderful at putting outfits together, accessorizing, and finding smashing pieces that I would not have selected myself.  She’ll introduce you to new stores and shopping options, and show you new ways to put things together.  With Julie you can cover a lot of ground in a short period of time.  The process is fun, and I get lots of compliments on the results.”

"I was a little surprised when my wife gave me a gift certificate for wardrobe consulting, but Julie made going shopping a very nice (and efficient) experience....kind of like having someone else do most of the work, but leaving the easy, fun parts to you."

"Being a fairly typical male who likes to spend as little time as possible shopping (especially where clothes are concerned), I must say that working with Julie made the whole process a pleasure.  In an afternoon she was able to revamp and update my wardrobe from top to bottom.  She was really able to focus in quickly on what I needed and helped to pick out some great stuff in colors and styles that look good on me.  I would highly recommend her to any man looking for help picking out a new wardrobe."
Ted - Berkeley, CA

"Julie helped me find some great things that I wouldn't have even considered without her encouragement.  She's very professional, doesn't waste my time, and is a pleasure to work with.  I really dislike clothes shopping and Julie helped make the experience less painful!"

"Once I faced the truth that I just wasn't born with the fashion gene, I was so lucky to find Julie.  She turned shopping from a chore to a fun event.  She quickly learned what I like and what looks best on me.  All I had to do was show up in a dressing room filled with clothes ready for me to try on.  It took Julie just a half-hour to select clothes it would have taken me hours to find.  Even better, she found clothes that looked great on me that I never would have pulled off the rack in the first place, all within my budget.  A miracle!"

“As someone who could never find anything to fit, you guided me to the right brands and the right styles for my figure type.  You have changed the way I think about shopping.  I can now go into a store and find clothing that fits and looks good on me. You have worked magic!”
Marie - Potomac, MD

“Before going shopping with Julie, my closet seemed to be filled with clothes that I never liked to wear, or clothes that I could never pull off. I went out with Julie hoping to find a pair of jeans or one cute top, and came back with multiple new tops and jackets, plus the pair of jeans I get the most compliments on. She helped me find which colors looked best on me, and now my closet is stuffed with clothes I get multiple compliments on. I truly could not have done this without her.”

“I thought you would enjoy seeing our photo since we all used our fans to coordinate our tops.  I think the end result is proof of how perfectly the fans work. Thanks so much, we continue to shop with our fans.”

(Note: Sara was so pleased with having her colors done that she hired Julie to help her husband, son, daughter, mother, two sisters and a niece.)

“Thank you so much for your wonderful guidance and expertise in getting my ‘look’ together.  From doing colors, to going through my closet to buying new pieces, you made the process fun…and efficient.  As we looked for new pieces, you were able to incorporate my style very well into the choices we made.  Now I look like me, only better!  I feel a newfound confidence that my clothes reflect who I am, and are also appropriate for my professional role.  I am so grateful for your help and feel so lucky to have found you.”

“Thank you, Julie! It was an amazing shopping experience. I just LOVE my new clothes. You were able to quickly grasp what I needed to achieve my wardrobe goals. You helped me strike the right balance with the simple, elegant clothes I love mixed with some fun and hip pieces that pushed beyond my usual conservative boundaries but still fit with my personality. And you helped me save over 50% in one store alone! I can’t wait until we go shopping again.”

“After attending Julie's presentation, I understand why there were some clothes in my closet I never wore.  They weren't the right texture, shape or color for me.  It felt good to make room for the right clothes! Julie's presentation has made me a much better shopper.  I have saved myself time by not even walking to the racks in colors that aren't right for me, and she has saved me money by avoiding mistakes, especially the "orphans" I'm always tempted to buy because they're on sale and not because they are right for me.”

“It was not only fun to learn my colors, but also, it has helped me choose the right clothes ever since.   I was even lucky enough to have Julie take me shopping for the "right" clothes while she was in Connecticut.  It's been quite empowering. It really REVOLUTIONIZED my shopping.  I'd have to say it was like switching from a PC to a MAC - I can't imagine going back to the  ‘old’ way.“
Martha - Avon, CT

“I have shopped with confidence since getting my color fan from Julie.  For the first time, I was able to shop at Macy’s without getting overwhelmed and going home with a headache.  I was able to skip over 90% of the clothes as not being right for me and hone I right away on the items that would look good on me.  What a pleasure!”

“Thought you would like to know … that even the security man at the Chicago airport thought you gave good wardrobe advice!  I was going through security yesterday wearing my raspberry shirt and the black pants (with the wide built-in multi-colored belt) from Talbots when one of the guards said “Good colors on you.”  I laughed and wanted to remember to tell you.  I actually get lots of compliments on many of the things I picked out with you and am disappointed that the season is about to change enough that I’m going to have to put most of my “new” clothes away for the spring/summer.  Guess that’s a good excuse to go shopping again."

“I can’t tell you how EXCITED I am about learning from you. Already I feel on the path to understanding how to fix my fashion faux pas! I can’t begin to tell you how fabulous getting dressed is now!  I feel much more put together and confident.  All because of you!”
